Who’s Behind Theo’s Curations?
Have you ever wondered, "Is this just a computer or are there real people at Theo’s?" Well, let us assure you—we’re very much real people. Theo’s Curations is a family business, led by me, Ted Clifton, alongside my wife Marilyn, our daughter Lori Terry, and my grandson Dylan Carrillo. On occasion, you might also find my other grandson, Spencer Clifton, lending a hand.
We began as USA Gifts, focusing on Southwest-inspired styles and the stunning beauty of our home state, Colorado. About a year ago, we rebranded to Theo’s Curations. Since then, we’ve grown and evolved—our product mix and images have changed as we learn what resonates with our customers. While it might seem like we’re wishy-washy, it’s really about discovering what works and staying committed to sharing the bold, colorful Southwest imagery that inspires us.
As for me, I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. That identity was cemented when I was just 10 years old, in fourth grade at East Side Elementary School. My teacher, Miss Smith, asked me to design the Thanksgiving program cover. She said, “You’re the best artist in the class, and I know you’ll do a great job.” Those words stuck with me—they made me feel like I really was an ARTIST.
Now, decades later, I’m still creating, designing, and curating art for Theo’s Curations. The tools and ideas surrounding art have changed drastically since 1955, but my passion for bold designs and bright colors rooted in life experiences hasn’t wavered. Every image we offer reflects a celebration of the Southwest and a lifelong journey to prove Miss Smith was right.
We hope you find something in our collection that brings you joy and perhaps inspires a story of your own. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Warm regards,
Ted Clifton
