My Journey

Coming Full Circle: My Journey as an Artist

For most of my life, I’ve been living a well-crafted fraud. Not in the criminal sense—but in the way that I’ve spent big chunks of my life disguised as an accountant, a small business owner, an author, and a financial consultant. But the truth is, those were just hats I wore to fit the moment. Beneath all of that—since grade school—I’ve always been an artist.

Not saying I was a good artist, just that this is who I have always been. No matter what career I pursued or what job title I carried, I saw the world through an artistic lens. My mind has always been busy with colors, shapes, and compositions—even while working in spreadsheets or boardrooms.

A Life Creating Art

Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of mediums:
🎨 Digital Art – Experimenting with pixels and programs long before it was common.
🖌️ Watercolors & Acrylics – Traditional, expressive, and ever-evolving.
✏️ Sketches & Sculptures – Capturing ideas as they came to life.
🏜️ Dioramas & 3D Art – A mix of storytelling and creativity.

Hundreds of pieces—some finished, some abandoned, but all part of my journey.

Finding the Southwest

In the 1980s, I landed in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and everything changed. The Southwest was nothing like where I had lived before. It was a new world of contrast and beauty—one that I hadn’t fully appreciated until I was in the middle of it. My art quickly became desert-inspired: vast landscapes, cacti standing resilient, tumbleweeds rolling by, deep red mesas against golden skies.

It was during this time that I discovered digital art—a brand-new frontier for me. I experimented, explored, and created pieces that still stand among my favorites today.

Art & Technology: A New Chapter

Fast-forward to today, and I’ve embraced the modern world of art technology. AI, digital tools, and advanced printing techniques have opened doors I never imagined decades ago. Theo’s Curations is a culmination of everything I’ve learned—my artistic roots, my love for the Southwest, and my ever-growing fascination with blending traditional creativity with cutting-edge technology.

I hope you find something in my work that speaks to you, inspires you, or simply makes you smile. After years of juggling different roles, I’ve finally let go of all the other hats—and at last, I’m just an artist.
