Ted (Theo) Clifton Bio
Ted Clifton – Artist & Author
Ted Clifton is a visual artist whose work is deeply inspired by the bold colors, textured landscapes, and quiet strength of the American Southwest. Working in ink, acrylic, oil, and digital mediums, his art celebrates the natural forms of trees, cacti, skies, and open spaces—often reimagined through a lens of color, contrast, and emotional impression.
Through his studio, Theo’s Curations, Ted produces Limited Edition canvas prints, each one part of a carefully curated collection that reflects his lifelong connection to Colorado and New Mexico. His current work draws heavily from his years in Las Cruces, Santa Fe, and the surrounding desert—places that continue to fuel his artistic spirit.
Before returning full-time to his creative roots, Ted spent decades as an entrepreneur, founding and leading a wide range of ventures, from ice cream shops to M&A advisory firms. That varied path informs his work today—equal parts thoughtful, hands-on, and independent.
In addition to his visual art, Ted is the author of multiple novels and nonfiction books. His writing includes Southwest-flavored murder mysteries like The Bootlegger’s Legacy, Santa Fe Mojo, and Dog Gone Lies, as well as business titles such as How to Sell Your Business Without a Broker and the children’s book Book Alert!.
Whether on canvas or the page, Ted Clifton’s creative work reflects a single thread: a deep appreciation for storytelling, visual energy, and the beauty of place.
